Staying Afloat

So the summer is over and it’s time to get back into the routine of life. I don’t know about you but I think it's a kind of scary time of the year. It feels like we should be starting fresh, settling down and improving on our skills. Summer is like a little party, a break from having to constantly keep up. Well the party looks like it’s over, unless of course we get an Indian Summer…bring it on!

Byrnes Cove Kilkee - oil on paper.

The kids are back to school or starting university, households are disrupted with the new changes.  I have also enrolled in a series of oil painting classes run by a well known artist. I am looking forward to improving my skills and hopefully it will show up in the pieces I am working on now. I think it’s really important to keep updating skills.

I am so grateful that I seem to have a constant stream of house commissions, I still really enjoy doing these and it keeps me in a steady routine, which I think is very important. I have been doing them for over ten years now and they are still proving to be a fantastic gift.

I am delighted to say I am now showing in three galleries and aiming to spread my wings a little further. The landscapes and oils are part of my new adventure.

I am planning to clean up my studio in preparation for my new work. So, in the middle of October I will be launching a mid season sale of my prints. Take a minute to have a look at my shop and see if there is anything in there that might be of interest! You have to love a bargain!

I would love if you stay with me on my journey, this is not always about art, it may sound that way but I think this is how a lot of people feel. Let me know if I am right, do you wish the party didn't end? Bring on our Indian summer!
